License Summary

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Time Capsule ("the App"), you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

This EULA is a legal agreement between you (the "Licensee") and Time Capsule (the "Licensor") for the use of Time Capsule software.

2. License Grant

Time Capsule grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Time Capsule on iOS devices that you own or control, subject to the following conditions:

2.1 Permitted Uses

• Install and use Time Capsule on unlimited iOS devices you own
• Use all features included in your purchased version
• Create, store, and manage your time-locked capsules
• Attach photos and voice memos to your capsules (voice memo requires Premium)

2.2 Restrictions

• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• You may not modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• You may not rent, lease, or lend the App to others
• You may not use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• You may not remove or obscure any copyright notices
• You may not attempt to bypass time-lock encryption mechanisms
• You may not use the App to violate any laws or regulations

3. Ownership and Intellectual Property

Time Capsule and all intellectual property rights therein remain the exclusive property of Time Capsule. The App is protected by copyright laws and international treaty provisions.

You acknowledge that you do not acquire any ownership rights by using this App. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Time Capsule.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

Our Privacy Commitment: Time Capsule is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data without your explicit consent.

4.1 Your Data

• You retain full ownership of all data you store in Time Capsule
• Your capsules, photos, and voice memos are encrypted and stored locally
• We cannot access your encrypted data
• You can delete your data at any time

4.2 Data Processing

All data processing happens locally on your device. Your data never leaves your device.

5. Time-Lock Feature

Important Notice: Time Capsule allows you to create capsules that are locked until a specific future date.

5.1 How Time-Lock Works

• Capsules are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption
• Content cannot be accessed before the scheduled open date
• The open date is determined by your device's system clock
• Capsules automatically become available when the date is reached

5.2 User Acknowledgment

• You understand that locked capsules cannot be opened early
• We are not responsible for system clock manipulation
• Lost or forgotten capsules cannot be recovered by us

6. Security and User Responsibilities

Important Security Notice: While Time Capsule provides robust security features, the ultimate security of your data depends on your practices.

6.1 Your Responsibilities

• Keep your device secure with a passcode/biometrics
• Keep your iOS operating system updated
• Report any security issues immediately
• Use the App only on devices you trust
• Back up your device regularly

6.2 Security Features

Time Capsule provides multiple security features including AES-256-GCM encryption, biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID), and local data storage. However, no security system is impenetrable.

7. Updates and Maintenance

Time Capsule may periodically release updates to improve functionality, fix bugs, or enhance security. You agree to allow these updates to be installed automatically or manually as available.

7.1 Update Types

• Security Updates: Critical patches to protect against vulnerabilities
• Feature Updates: New functionality and improvements
• Bug Fixes: Resolutions to reported issues

7.2 Update Requirements

Some features may require the latest version of the App. Continued use of outdated versions may result in reduced functionality or security risks.

8. In-App Purchases

Time Capsule offers premium features through a one-time lifetime purchase. These are governed by Apple's App Store terms and conditions.

8.1 Purchase Terms

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account
• Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, no subscription
• No refunds for purchases (governed by Apple's refund policy)

8.2 Premium Features

• Unlimited capsules (free version: open up to 4 capsules)
• Voice memo recording and attachment
• Lifetime access to all premium features

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Time Capsule is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

9.1 No Warranties

• We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We do not warrant that the App will meet your specific requirements
• We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of all features
• We make no warranties about data security beyond our stated measures

9.2 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for backing up your device and maintaining the security of your accounts.

10. Limitation of Liability

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Time Capsule shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10.1 Excluded Damages

• Data loss or corruption
• Loss of capsules or memories
• Business interruption or loss of profits
• Damage to devices or other software
• Any other indirect or consequential damages

10.2 Maximum Liability

Our total liability for any claims related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App, if any.

11. Termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. Your rights under this EULA will terminate automatically if you violate any of its terms.

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate this EULA at any time by uninstalling the App and deleting your data.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate this EULA if you violate terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies. Local data may remain on your device until manually deleted.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Time Capsule is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12.1 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from this EULA shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If unresolved, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

12.2 Severability

If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

This EULA constitutes the entire agreement between you and Time Capsule regarding the use of the App, superseding all prior agreements.

13.2 Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision of this EULA shall not be construed as a waiver of any future enforcement of that provision.

13.3 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer this EULA without our prior written consent. We may assign this EULA to any third party.

13.4 Language

This EULA is provided in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only, and the English version shall prevail in case of conflicts.

14. Third-Party Services

Time Capsule may integrate with certain third-party services:

14.1 Apple Services

• App Store for distribution and payments
• Face ID/Touch ID for authentication

14.2 Third-Party Terms

Use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
