VaultNote is a password manager and two-factor authentication (2FA) application designed with privacy and security as our top priorities. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use VaultNote.
Our commitment: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data without your explicit consent. Your privacy is fundamental to our design.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
Important: VaultNote is designed to be privacy-first. We do NOT collect:
- Your passwords or 2FA codes
- Personal information (name, email, phone)
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Device identifiers or advertising data
- Location information
- Contacts or photos
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
All your sensitive data is stored locally on your device using iOS Keychain Services with AES-256 encryption. This means:
- Your passwords never leave your device
- Data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption
- Only you have access to your master password and encrypted data
- We use zero-knowledge architecture - we cannot access your data even if we wanted to
4. App Permissions and Usage
VaultNote requests minimal permissions necessary for core functionality:
Face ID / Touch ID
Used for secure and convenient authentication to access your vault. Biometric data never leaves your device and is processed by Apple's secure enclave.
Camera Access
Used only for scanning QR codes when setting up two-factor authentication. No images are stored or transmitted.
Keychain Access
Used to securely store your encrypted passwords and authentication data on your device.
5. Third-Party Services
VaultNote does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any data with third parties.
6. Data Retention
Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it. You have complete control over your data:
- Delete individual passwords at any time
- Delete your entire vault and all data through app settings
- Export your data before deletion if desired
7. Children's Privacy
VaultNote is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will immediately delete it.
8. Security Measures
We implement multiple layers of security to protect your data:
- Encryption: AES-256 encryption for all stored data
- Authentication: Biometric authentication + master password
- Local Processing: All sensitive operations happen on your device
- Regular Updates: Security patches and updates
- Code Protection: Swift code obfuscation and anti-tampering
9. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can access all your data at any time through the app
- Correction: You can edit or update any stored information
- Deletion: You can delete any or all of your data
- Portability: You can export your data in standard formats
- Control: You control what features and permissions to enable

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in this page with an updated effective date. We will not make changes that reduce your privacy protections without your consent.
